A few updated pictures

Here are a few updated pictures from the past couple of days.

It is way TOO hot for slippers, but so cute!
We have noticed lately that the tv is catching Zack's eye. This particular time, Kris was watching tennis, and Zack was very interested in it. We put him in his chair, and he watched it for quite some time. (His Grandpa Brad is so proud, we know!!) I really feel like a horrible parent for putting our baby in front of the tv, but we did it anyway! I think he will be fine!
We got Zack a Bumbo seat, and he is doing really well in it!

Yet another milestone

Well I don't know if you should actually call this a milestone or not, but Zack has graduated from the hammock part of the bathtub to sitting up in the bottom part. He loves his bath time, as you will see from the video (sorry about my head getting in the way at the end!) What a big boy!!

With the hammock.

Without the hammock.

Happy 3 months!

Amazingly, it is time again for the monthly cupcake pictures! That means that our little man is 3 months old today! He has really grown up so much in this last month. He is following us and other objects with his eyes. He is also smiling and laughing as well as grabbing things and bringing them to his mouth. He is also sitting up with assistance. He is only waking up once during the night, and hopefully will sleep through the night soon. We are so proud of him and love this little guy so much! Enjoy his three month pictures.

Well, Zack decided this time that he wanted to grab the cupcake (I told you that he was grabbing things now). He definitely got a handful of frosting, but we caught him before it went to his mouth. You can't tell from the picture, but his other hand is full of frosting as well! I wonder if he will have a sweet tooth like his mommy?!?! Here is the cupcake after his little fingers had been in it!

The Caldwell Zoo

On Saturday, Zack had his first trip to the zoo. There is a very nice zoo in Tyler, the Caldwell Zoo. We met Zack's MeMe and Pappy, Uncle Michael, Aunt Amber and cousins Skylar and Paris there. We got there pretty early and left before it got too crowded, and too hot for the little man. He had a great time, although he slept most of the time! He finally woke up in the Reptile House - he could sense those icky creatures - and was pretty much awake until our ride home. Yet another successful and fun adventure in the Thornton family!

Doesn't he look so cute??

Here is a tribute to Zack's bedroom. He has each of the following animals on his wall in his room(giraffe, elephant, zebra, lion and monkey). There were no monkeys at this zoo (can you believe it!), so in place of the monkey, I have put the picture of Zack with his monkey bib on. The expression on his face kind of looks like the monkey!!!

Yeah...this zoo thing is better than I thought!!

Here is a stuffed lion that he got for his room. (His MeMe bought it for him.)By this point, he was very tired and ready to get home! He wasn't the only one!!!

Growing up so fast!

I have not really realized how much Zack has grown because I see him every day. Yesterday he was lying next to my pillow on the bed, and I noticed that he is almost as long as the pillow. It made me think back to 12 weeks ago, on the day when he came home from the hospital, and was only a little longer than my brother's shoe (although it is a size 15!!!) Wow how time flies and how fast Zack is growing up. We are so blessed to have such a healthy and happy baby, and we are enjoying every second with him in our lives.

Here is Little Man next to Uncle Mark's shoe. He was so tiny!

Baby talk

Zack is starting to "talk" more and more! He is really responding to Kris and I. Here is one of the best vidoes that we have been able to get. It is so amazing that in just 11 weeks what he is able to do. I know, he is going to be a genious!!!

The balloon glow

Here is a video of the balloon glow. It was very cool. Notice how close we were to one of the balloons. It was quite hot!

The Great Texas Balloon Race

Longview, TX, our home now for almost a year, is the Hot Air Balloon capital of Texas (just in case you all were wondering where the Hot Air Balloon capital of Texas was!!) Every year in July there is a hot air balloon race and then a big festival and a balloon glow. The balloon race starts early in the morning, and then the balloon glow happens at night. Here are a few pictures of what we saw yesterday!

Here is the view from our front porch of the balloon race. I don't quite understand how you race a hot air balloon, but it looks pretty cool!

Zack slept almost the whole time at the balloon glow!
When it got dark, thet lit all the hot air balloons at the same time.
Watch the video as well! This was my personal favorite! Here is the RE/MAX balloon that we saw last weekend. It was one of the prettiest ones when lit up.

Our 3rd Year Anniversary!!

Well today is our 3rd year wedding anniversary. We spent the day pretty much running errands, since Kris had a day off. However, we did do something fun. We had our first family portraits, that included Zack, taken. It was great. Zack did so well. He smiled when we needed him to, and only cried when he was hungry. We did wear him out though. He has slept the whole day since the pictures. Here are a couple pictures from our shoot.

Our weekend adventure

This weekend we went on our first over night adventure with Zack. We were only going an hour away to Kris' parent's house, but it still was away from home. Zack had 4 bags, and I must say - we used EVERYTHING that we packed! We had a great time and look forward to our next adventure!

Zack and Deke all ready to go (Zack is already asleep!!)
While we were at Kris' parent's, his mom had to go get her picture taken in front of the RE/MAX hot air balloon for work. We went with her and got to see the balloon be blown up. It was pretty cool. I just wish they would have let us go up in it - that has always been a dream of mine!

Here is MeMe with her grandkids. Skylar, get your finger out of Zack's mouth!!

On our way home from Winnsboro, we got a flat tire. This was our second flat tire within the past couple of months, so Kris has had some practice changing tires! We were lucky enough to find some shade next to a building since it was very hot and we had Zack. A very nice man stopped to help and brought us some cold water. There still are good people out there!

Here is Zack hanging out while Daddy was changing the tire. He had a great time and even got to play with some water to cool off! We made it home safe and sound.

Our 4th of July guests

We were so excited when the Granthams called and said they were going to stop at our house on the way to Little Rock, Arkansas. This was the first time that we were able to see Watson, they were able to see Zack, and the little guys got to meet each other. They were so cute when we put them together, and instantly we could tell they were going to be great friends just like their parents!

They were so cute on the floor together. Watson kept putting his hand on Zack's head, and finally, Zack just started sucking on Watson's hand. When one would make a noise, the other followed - and the same with crying!
Their matching frog outfits!
Taking a little nap on the Quiznos table!
We then went to see the fireworks show. They both loved the show (ok, they had no idea what was going on), and especially loved spending time with thier Daddies.

Thanks for visiting us. We can't wait to see you all soon!

Happy Fourth of July!

Happy Fourth of July to everyone. We hope that you had a wonderful day - we sure did!

I finally got Emily to play a video game with me. Here you can see that she is rockin' with Guitar Hero. She was hesitant to play at first, but she likes it. And she is actually good too. She has nicknamed herself, "Rocker Chik". I'm glad that we can actually play a video game together now.

And the doctor says...he is perfect!

Today Zack had his two month exam and shots. The exam went very well. He is now 10 lbs., 6 oz and almost 23 inches long. He has grown so much and is getting so big! She said that everything looks perfect! They then came in to give the poor little man his first round of shots. Obviously he didn't know what was coming, but I sure did. I was so nervous and anxious about the shots, but he did really well. Of course he screamed, but not as long as I thought he would. He then fell asleep and slept forever. Poor little guy wore himself out!

Well, I had to document all of those perfect little parts while they are still somewhat tiny. Here they are in all of their perfection. Isn't God awesome?!?!
